Many people with severe allergic reactions to stinging insects live in fear of going outside during ‘bee season’.  If they end up in the emergency department, personnel were most likely not aware of an alternative or additive therapy to the Epi-Pen….until now.  HollisterStier Allergy identified a true need to educate both patients and emergency room personnel regarding venom immunotherapy (VIT) -  ‘a therapy that is always with you’.  The company launched an unbranded campaign titled “BeeAware Allergy”. Educational materials included clinician brochures and interactive materials, patients brochures (in English and Spanish) and a kids brochures featuring a friendly cartoon bee that can be colored.  The information rich website reinforced the friendly tone of the campaign and came complete with an allergist finder.
